The newly founded German-Tunisian interdisciplinary Research Group “Tunisia in Transition” held its first seminar in Tunisia at the end of March 2013. The seminar, which took place at the University of La Manouba’s Institute of Press and Communication Sciences (IPSI), had a double objective: bringing together young scholars from different disciplines to work on the current developments in Tunisia as well as providing them with methodological tools for their academic work.
About twenty students and young researchers on MA- or PhD-level participated in the workshop, among them two from the University of Passau. The event was jointly organized by Edmund Ratka (University of Passau), Rasmus Brandt (Ludwig-Maximilans-University Munich) and Dr. Anis Ben Amor, who coordinates the project in Tunisia in cooperation with partners from the Universities of La Manouba, of Carthage and of Tunis el-Manar. The method training was assured by Mathieu Rousselin from the Centre for Global Cooperation Research at the University of Duisburg.
